American Airlines Adds Passengers by Using Lavatory Doors for Seating
American Airlines is modifying its Airbus A319 aircraft to add an extra first class row without increasing overall capacity, resulting in reduced legroom and the removal of seat-back entertainment screens. The airline is also squeezing lavatories and galley space, including installing jump seats on lavatory doors, contradicting previous promises by former CEO Doug Parker that they would not do so. These changes aim to increase revenue but have raised concerns about passenger and crew comfort.
