Local Election Results: School Levies Pass and Fail in Ohio and Michigan

Voters in Washtenaw County, Michigan passed tax proposals for public schools and fire coverage in a special election on May 2. Non-homestead tax renewals for Saline Area Schools and Whitmore Lake Public Schools were passed, as well as a tax renewal for fire protection, emergency medical services, and first responders for the Chelsea Area Fire Authority. The non-homestead property tax is required by Michigan school districts to collect their full per-student state funding.
