A Reddit user has discovered a workaround for the under-display fingerprint scanner on Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series phones. By wiping their finger on the outside of their nose, the scanner picks up enough oils or schmutz to recognize the print. Another suggestion is to run fingers through hair before trying the scanner. Some users have been lucky enough not to have issues with the scanner. The upcoming Pixel 8 line is rumored to have an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner. The recently unveiled Pixel Fold will use a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated with the power button.
