"Euclid's Commissioning Challenges in Scanning the Dark Universe"
The Euclid space telescope, launched by the European Space Agency, has encountered some setbacks during its commissioning phase. The telescope's Fine Guidance Sensor (FGS) failed to track faint stars, prompting engineers to develop a software update to address the issue. Additionally, the telescope's Visible light instrument (VIS) occasionally picked up stray light from the sun, affecting around 10 percent of its images. Despite these challenges, initial tests are looking promising, and further observations are needed to determine the impact on Euclid's mission.
