Rabies-Positive Feral Cat Found in Putnam Valley
A feral cat found in Putnam Valley, in the area of Peekskill Hollow Road and Tinker Hill Road, has tested positive for rabies. Health officials urge anyone who came into contact with the cat to call the health department and emphasize the importance of keeping pets up to date on rabies vaccinations and avoiding contact with wild animals. Free vaccination clinics are available three times a year, with the next one scheduled for Saturday, March 23 at Veteran's Memorial Park in Carmel.
