FDA Urged to Investigate Logan Paul's PRIME Drink for High Caffeine Levels
Senator Charles Schumer has called on the FDA to investigate PRIME energy drinks due to their high caffeine levels and unclear marketing targeting young people. PRIME, backed by popular YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI, has become hugely popular among children and teens. Each 12 oz. bottle contains 200 milligrams of caffeine, equivalent to about half a dozen Coke cans or nearly two Red Bulls. Schumer argues that the marketing and branding of the drinks are not distinguished enough, leading parents to unknowingly buy highly caffeinated drinks for their children. The company claims to clearly advertise the drink as for consumers 18 years and older.
