Google Phone app is removing the 'Favorites' tab in its beta version, replacing it with a Favorites carousel at the top of the Recents feed as part of a broader Material 3 redesign, simplifying the interface for users on both Pixel and non-Google phones.
Google Home app's customizable "Favorites" tab now allows users to add lighting groups of an entire room, a feature that has been heavily requested. The update is currently rolling out to Public Preview testers and applies to the new "Home Panel" on Pixel devices. While there is no shortcut for turning off all lights at once, this is still a step in the right direction.
