Italy's Trenitalia has been ranked as the top rail operator in Europe by the NGO Transport & Environment, followed by Switzerland's SBB and Czech Republic's RegioJet. The study evaluated 27 operators based on criteria like ticket prices and reliability, with Eurostar performing the worst due to high costs and poor reliability. The report also noted that many European rail operators struggle with punctuality, with only 11 out of 25 achieving a punctuality rate above 80%.
