Ethereum's Shapella Upgrade Sparks Surge in Staking and Unstaking Activity.

More ETH is currently being staked than withdrawn since the Shapella upgrade on April 12, with the staking volume of 124,000 ETH exceeding the withdrawal volume of 64,800 ETH for the first time. The majority of validators are restaking their unlocked Ether, and some have transferred it to centralized exchanges. The average price of staked ETH is about $2,137, and 22,231 validators have signed up for a complete exit out of 574,624.

Ethereum Community Predicts All-Time High in 2023 with Upcoming Shanghai Upgrade.

A survey conducted by OKX, the second biggest global crypto exchange by trading volume, shows that the majority of the Ethereum (ETH) community expects an increase in ETH staking around the time of the Shapella upgrade, with 83% of respondents believing this theory. Additionally, 63% of those surveyed predict that ETH will reach a new record high of over $5,000 by the end of 2023. The survey also highlights the growing popularity of ETH staking, with 17.9 million ETH staked on the Ethereum network as of April 5th, 2023, equivalent to over $34 billion.
