Slack is introducing AI features to help users understand workplace jargon quickly, automate tasks like summarizing conversations, and provide context about colleagues, aiming to enhance productivity and streamline communication. Google Cloud is partnering with Mayo Clinic to expand the use of generative AI in health care. Mayo Clinic is using a new service called Enterprise Search on Generative AI App Builder, which allows medical professionals to quickly find patient information using chatbot-like tools. The technology enables workers to interpret data such as a patient's medical history, imaging records, genomics or labs more quickly and with a simple query, even if the information is stored across different formats and locations. The partnership is the first step in an expanded agreement between the two companies to work together on AI applications in health care.
Cloud data management company Snowflake has acquired search start-up Neeva, which was founded by two former Google employees. Neeva had been working on a standalone generative AI search app called Gist before it shut down its consumer search offering to focus on enterprise products. Snowflake was attracted to Neeva's ability to leverage generative AI in search, which allows users to ask questions and interact with the search tool. The founders of Neeva will now work on building AI search solutions on top of Snowflake's cloud data management solution.
