Toyota's Engineering Society, a group of employees dedicated to prototyping and iterating on the company’s technology, has created a real motorcycle resembling the futuristic, motorcycle-like dragon Miraidon, the mascot for Pokémon Violet. While it's unlikely to be mass-produced, the prototype accurately reflects the Pokémon's abilities and design. This isn't the first time a real-world vehicle has been made to resemble a Pokémon, as the Pikachu Bug cars were a significant part of the series' marketing in the '90s.
Harley-Davidson's LiveWire S2 Del Mar electric motorcycle has been announced with impressive specs, including a 113-mile city range, acceleration from zero to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds, and a top speed of 103 mph. The bike also features OTA updates, a four-inch round screen, and app-based navigation. Priced at $15,499, its release date is yet to be confirmed, but a July launch in the US is expected.
BMW has officially launched the CE 02, a light electric motorcycle designed for urban environments. Priced at $7,599, it is BMW's lowest priced electric motorbike to date. With a top speed of 59 mph and a range of 56 miles, it is suitable for urban and suburban riding but not for highways. The CE 02 features a unique design, keyless start, adjustable hand brake levers, and a USB-C port for charging devices. It will be compatible with BMW's ConnectedRide smart glasses.
SUPER73 has launched its Adventure Series e-bikes, which feature more hardcore tires, extra suspension, and an 8-speed cassette. The company has also released its K1D kids balance e-bikes, which offer a 60-minute playtime and regenerative braking. Additionally, SUPER73 has revealed new information about its upcoming C1X electric motorcycle, which is expected to charge from 10% to 80% in only 15 minutes and deliver a range of around 100 miles. The C1X is set to be released in 2024 and will challenge other light electric motorcycles on the market.
