Georgia Leads South in Voter Turnout Despite Partisan Divides
A new survey from the MIT Election Data + Science Lab shows that voter confidence in the nationwide count has increased to 69% in 2022 from 61% in 2020. However, a deep partisan divide remains, with Democrats' confidence virtually unchanged at 92% and Republicans growing 20 points to 42%. The survey also found that voters expressed more confidence in localized elections, with 85% confident that votes in their state were counted as intended. The survey also revealed significant partisan divides on election policies, such as requiring a photo ID to vote and hand-counting paper ballots.
