Helen Brown, a 102-year-old woman from Akron, Ohio, became the oldest Cleveland Clinic patient to undergo a thrombectomy following a stroke. Despite her age, Brown was otherwise healthy and had a good family support system, which made her a good candidate for the procedure. Her family is urging people to recognize stroke symptoms and the importance of getting help quickly. Brown continues to defy the odds and walk around the house with assistance from a walker.

A woman stole a health care facility van with a 93-year-old cancer patient still inside and led police on a dangerous chase through the San Fernando Valley. The chase ended with the driver surrendering after she was blocked in by LAPD units. The elderly man inside the van was unhurt but shaken up. The LAPD was able to track the shuttle down because the driver had left his cellphone inside. The identity of the woman and why she stole the shuttle remain unclear.
