Bad Sleep Tied to Comfort Eating and Obesity Risk in UK Study
A cross-sectional UK study of 27,263 adults links poor sleep quality and short sleep (<7 hours) with comfort- and emotional-eating, higher odds of eating in response to stress or boredom, and increased obesity risk. While the findings suggest better sleep could help curb unhealthy eating patterns, the study is observational and cannot prove causation; further experimental research is needed.
