"Williamson County Unveils East Wilco Highway's Inaugural Section"

Williamson County in Texas has opened Segment 1 of the East Wilco Highway, a two-lane road with a turning lane in the middle, to help accommodate the growing number of cars in the area. The project also widened County Road 138 to add a dedicated right-turn lane to northbound State Highway 130. Segment 3, which includes a bridge over U.S. 79 and the Union Pacific Railroad, is currently under construction. Segment 2 will be decided by voters in the upcoming election. The county is currently working on over 50 road projects, facing challenges such as increased costs and labor shortages.

Samsung Highway Segment 1 Opens in Williamson County

Segment 1 of the Samsung Highway project in Williamson County, Texas, has opened, connecting FM 972 to CR 404. The project aims to improve safety and mobility in the growing East Williamson County area. Segment 2, connecting CR 404 to FM 3349, is expected to be completed by summer 2024. The county has undertaken numerous road projects to accommodate increased traffic and construction trucks, with 58 eminent domain requests made between January 2022 and June 2023. The construction cost for Segment 1 was $13,749,803.65, funded through the county's 2019 Road Bond.
