Wakefulness drug helps pre-dawn workers stay alert
A four-week randomized trial in 78 early-morning shift workers with shift work disorder found that solriamfetol (Sunosi) reduced daytime sleepiness, extended wakefulness during simulated eight-hour shifts, and improved self-reported functioning and work productivity; long-term safety is still unknown, and a follow-up study in overnight workers is planned to evaluate broader use.
