"July 1 Marks Implementation of Over 200 New Laws Across Multiple US States"
Over 200 new laws will go into effect in Nevada on July 1, including stricter penalties for driving offenses such as drunk driving causing injuries, an increase in the penalty for reckless driving causing substantial harm or death, and the requirement for mylar balloons to be sold with weights attached. Other laws include increased compensation for jury duty, allowing women to receive a 12-month supply of birth control pills in one visit, and the inclusion of gun locks with firearm purchases. Additionally, Nevada's minimum wage will increase to $10.25 an hour for those with health insurance and $11.25 an hour for those without.
