The New Hampshire attorney general has filed a civil complaint against the white nationalist group Nationalist Social Club-131 (NSC-131) and its leader, Christopher Hood, accusing them of civil rights violations. The complaint alleges that NSC-131 members stood outside a café hosting a drag story hour event, shouting homophobic slurs, making intimidating gestures, and attempting to coerce the business into refusing access based on sexual orientation or gender identity. This is the second complaint filed against NSC-131 in New Hampshire, following a similar complaint filed by the Massachusetts attorney general. The attorney general's office aims to send a clear message that New Hampshire will not tolerate hate groups that commit illegal acts harming its citizens.

The Drag Story Hour held at a local bookstore in Pittsford, organized by Pittsford CommUNITY, received a big show of support from residents and members of the LGBTQ-plus community. The event was moved to the bookstore after the Town of Pittsford said they would have to pay upwards of $8,000 in security fees. Performers read to children about crayons and farm animals, and encouraged them to be themselves and love themselves. The Town of Pittsford eventually reversed its decision to charge the security fees, and a second Drag Story Time will be held on April 23 at the community center.
State Attorney General Letitia James’ “Drag Story Hour” drew over 100 protesters from all sides, including City Council security guards, to the event at The Center, an LGBTQA community facility in Greenwich Village. The event had already drawn fire from critics who griped about using tax dollars to have drag performers read stories to children at various Big Apple locations. The events are co-sponsored by the nonprofit Drag Story Hour NYC, which has received more than $200,000 in city contracts since 2018, according to records. The attorney general said the whole point of the event was “to condemn hate and combat rampant disinformation.”
