Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has stated that he will veto any budget that includes a $32 million cut to the University of Wisconsin System proposed by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos. Vos sees diversity programming as a waste of taxpayer money and source of racial division. Evers called the cut "a ridiculous effort" and said it would be irrational to cut the UW System when the state has a $7 billion surplus. Lawmakers were set to vote on the UW System budget but delayed the vote to a later date.
