The Lingering Conflict: Kosovo-Serbia Tensions Continue to Escalate.
The recent violence in Kosovo highlights the failure of international efforts to improve Kosovo-Serbia relations. The US and EU are mistaken in treating Serbia as a good-faith actor in the dialogue process between Pristina and Belgrade. The US approach has allowed Serbia to absolve itself of its responsibilities, stoking hostility towards any resolution with Kosovo. The dialogue process is set to fail unless key Western capitals recognise they have backed the wrong horse and start treating each party more equally.
