"Nike Takes Over: Germany's Soccer Team Ends Long Adidas Partnership"
After a 70-year partnership, the German soccer federation (DFB) has announced that Nike will supply all of Germany’s national teams with apparel and equipment from 2027 to 2034, ending its long-standing relationship with Adidas. The decision was driven by Nike's superior financial offer and commitment to promoting amateur and grassroots sports, as well as sustainable development of women’s soccer in Germany. While the DFB defended its switch to Nike, some, including German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck, expressed disappointment, citing the strong association of Adidas with German identity.
