Netflix has announced that it is collaborating with Capcom to create a new animated series based on the action game series Devil May Cry. Adi Shankar, known for his work on Netflix's Castlevania adaptation, will serve as showrunner, with Studio Mir handling the animation. While no premiere date has been revealed, Netflix describes the show as "coming soon." This is not the first collaboration between Netflix and Capcom, as the streaming service has previously worked on Resident Evil projects and has a Mega Man film in development. Netflix has been actively adapting video games, with projects in the works for Horizon Zero Dawn, Gears of War, Assassin's Creed, and BioShock.

Ryota Suzuki, the combat director of Final Fantasy 16 and former Devil May Cry 5 design lead, has called the game's combat his "personal masterpiece". He and his team have prioritized designing the battle system to appeal to those who are not well-versed in action games. The combat has been compared to Devil May Cry, with lots of flips, pulling enemies in, and knocking them back. The game will be released on PS5 on June 22nd, with an indefinite wait for PC players.
