"No Smoking Zone: NYS Fair Implements Stricter Regulations on Tobacco and Cannabis Use"
The New York State Fair has implemented a new policy that prohibits smoking and vaping (both tobacco and cannabis) on the fairgrounds. Instead, designated smoking areas will be located outside the pedestrian gates, about 50 feet away from the fairgrounds. Fairgoers will be allowed to smoke in these areas before entering or after exiting the fairgrounds. This change comes after complaints about marijuana smoke and smell at the fairgrounds. The new policy is consistent with other large outdoor public spaces in New York State.
