Homeless Crisis: Bulldozed Encampments and Clearing Out in Chico and New Haven
The city of Chico, California, will continue to follow the protocols of the Warren v. Chico settlement agreement until January 2027, even after clearing the south side of Depot Park. City outreach and engagement teams will assess new camps, ensure sufficient shelter space, and obtain approval from the plaintiffs who sued for the clearout plans. The city plans to issue seven-day notices to the remaining individuals at Depot Park on August 21.
