Colorado activists seek ballot to temporarily redraw maps for 2028–30, then restore independence
A Colorado group, Coloradans for a Level Playing Field, is pursuing a ballot initiative to temporarily bypass the state’s independent redistricting commission and redraw the congressional map to seven Democratic-leaning districts and one Republican-leaning district for 2028 and 2030, with a plan to reinstate the commission after the 2030 census; they must gather roughly 125,000 signatures to qualify.
