Amazon Faces Lawsuit for Excluding Low-Income DC Areas from Fast Prime Delivery
The DC Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against Amazon, accusing the company of deceiving approximately 48,000 Prime members in two ZIP codes east of the Anacostia River by charging them full subscription prices while excluding them from its fastest delivery services. Since 2022, Amazon has used slower third-party delivery services for these areas without informing customers, violating consumer protection laws. The lawsuit seeks to stop these practices and obtain restitution for affected members.
