Direct deposits are being delayed at multiple banks across the U.S. due to an issue with the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system, which is used for electronic funds transfers. Banks such as Bank of America, Chase, U.S. Bank, and Wells Fargo have confirmed the delays, assuring customers that their accounts remain secure and balances will be updated once deposits are received. The Federal Reserve reported a processing issue with a batch of transfers, specifically with ACH's private-sector operator, EPN. Hundreds of individuals have reported issues with their banks on platforms like Twitter and Downdetector.

Camp Lejeune's Toxic Water Victims Face Payment Delays and Lawyer Fee Scrutiny

Sick and dying veterans who were exposed to toxic water at Camp Lejeune are facing a long delay in receiving payments from the US Navy, despite the passage of the Camp Lejeune Justice Act in August 2012. The act allows those diagnosed with one of 15 different illnesses who served at Lejeune from 1953 to 1987 to file a claim with the Navy, and to sue in federal court if the claim is rejected or ignored. However, none of the more than 45,000 claims submitted to the Navy has been resolved, and more than 900 ongoing lawsuits have been filed.
