Elise Stefanik Files Misconduct Complaint Against DC Judge Over Jan. 6 Comments
House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik has filed a misconduct complaint against US District Judge Beryl Howell, alleging that Howell's recent speech questioning impartiality and her personal relationships with President Biden's deputy attorney general have compromised her ability to rule fairly. Stefanik argues that such election interference by judges undermines public confidence in the judiciary and is illegal. The complaint has been received by the DC Court of Appeals Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan. Stefanik previously filed an ethics complaint against Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron in a civil fraud case against former President Donald Trump.
