Fitbit app 4.50 is rolling out with a dark theme on Android and iOS, offering benefits like reduced eye strain, improved battery life on OLED devices, and a modern look, with users able to manually select their preferred theme in settings.
Google Drive is introducing a dark theme for its web version, allowing users to switch to a night-friendly look by accessing the settings and selecting the dark mode option. This feature currently only applies to the file view and is not yet widely available, but it joins other customization options for the platform. While Google Drive joins other Google services in offering a dark theme, the availability of night-friendly looks across Google's apps and services is still limited.
Google Bard is now available in over 180 countries and supports Korean and Japanese languages. It has added new features such as the ability to export generated text to Gmail and Google Docs with formatting, a dark theme, and more precise code citations. Google is also working on adding image support and first and third-party app integrations. Bard will later move to Google DeepMind's Gemini model.
Android devices have hidden settings that can help preserve battery life, including reducing screen brightness, switching from 5G to 4G, reducing auto-lock time, and turning on Dark Theme. These settings can be adjusted in the device's settings menu.
