Tragic Accident: Italian Man Fatally Crushed by Falling Cheese Wheels
The owner of a dairy factory in northern Italy, Giacomo Chiapparini, was tragically killed when shelves carrying 25,000 wheels of cheese collapsed and buried him. Rescue workers spent 12 hours trying to save him, but their efforts were in vain. The cause of the collapse is still unknown, but material fatigue or a technical fault are suspected. The factory produces about 50 wheels of Grana Padano cheese a day.
