Black bear raids Connecticut bakery, devours 60 cupcakes
A black bear broke into a bakery garage in Avon, Connecticut, and ate about 60 cupcakes before being scared off by employees using a car horn. The incident was captured on surveillance video, which shows the bear dragging out a box full of cupcakes from the garage. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection set up a bear trap using sweets. There are 1,000 to 1,200 bears living in Connecticut, and the best way to coexist with them is to manage food and garbage with bears in mind, remove all traces of bird food, and scare away bears that are loitering around your home or looking for human-related foods.
