"Debunking the Myth: LK-99's Room Temperature Superconductivity Exposed"

Researchers have debunked the claim of room temperature superconductivity in LK-99, a material previously believed to exhibit superconducting behavior at ambient pressure. The study found that the LK-99 samples contained impurities of Cu2S, which undergoes a structural phase transition at a temperature close to the reported critical temperature. The observed resistivity transition was determined to be a first-order structural transition, not a second-order superconducting transition. This study provides solid evidence that LK-99 is non-superconducting, shattering the myth of room temperature superconductivity in this material.
