
Crown Center Shooting: KCPD Seeks Public Help in Investigation
Six people were injured in a shooting at Crown Center in Kansas City, which reopened the following day. The Kansas City Police Department reported that the shooting stemmed from an argument between two groups, resulting in a wide crime scene. Two additional individuals, unrelated to the altercation, fired weapons in response. The victims, ranging from late teens to 50s, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives are continuing to gather information and are in contact with prosecutors. Mayor Quinton Lucas is in Washington, D.C., discussing gun violence reduction at the U.S. Conference of Mayors winter meeting.
