Adolfo Macías Villamar, leader of the notorious Los Choneros gang in Ecuador, has disappeared from his prison cell, prompting a large-scale police search. Known as "Fito," he is suspected of involvement in deadly prison riots and the assassination of a presidential candidate. Fito's defiance of authorities was highlighted by the release of a music video glorifying his criminal exploits, recorded inside the jail. This escape is not his first, as he previously broke out in 2013. Los Choneros, known for drug trafficking and extortion, has ties to Mexico's Sinaloa cartel.
A 21-year-old woman named Dayjia Blackwell has been arrested in Philadelphia for allegedly encouraging looting on social media and participating in criminal activities herself. She is facing multiple charges, including burglary, conspiracy, and disorderly conduct. Blackwell was one of 52 individuals apprehended by the police, along with three juveniles. The looting spree resulted in the break-ins of several stores, including liquor stores, Lululemon, Foot Locker, and an Apple store. No injuries were reported, but the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board closed all its Philadelphia retail locations due to the incidents. Rapper Casanova, whose real name is Caswell Senior, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for racketeering and narcotics charges. He was found guilty of participating in a shooting, a robbery, drug trafficking, and his affiliation with the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation Gang. The court considered his double life as a high-profile gang leader in determining his punishment. Casanova had written a letter to the judge expressing his desire to leave the gang and stating that he no longer wanted any part of it. He has been in custody since December 2020 as part of a RICO case involving the gang.
Two robbers, who were caught on CCTV cameras, have been arrested by the Delhi police, even though they didn’t rob their targets and instead gave them money from their pockets. The attempted robbery occurred on the night of June 21, 2023, when the robbers threatened a couple with guns. However, upon finding only Rs 20 in their victims’ pockets, the robbers surprisingly handed over Rs 100 from their side before making their escape.
