Wizards of the Coast (WOTC) is potentially considering removing older creature types like Druid and Shaman from Magic: The Gathering (MTG) due to real-world associations. The discussion arose when MTG's lead designer, Mark Rosewater, responded to a comment about excluding the creature type "Witch" due to religious associations. While changes may be made for cultural sensitivity, it is uncertain if and when these changes will take effect. WOTC has already been revisiting its language use, such as redefining "Tribal" as "Typal."

Magic: The Gathering (MTG) players are puzzled by the introduction of a new creature type, Time Lord, in the Doctor Who Commander decks. This marks the first-ever two-word creature type in MTG, deviating from the usual single-word types. The decision to not hyphenate the creature type was made to stay true to the source material, as Time Lord is never hyphenated in Doctor Who. While some players have raised concerns about potential confusion, Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that the new creature type is within the rules and there are no plans to de-hyphenate any existing creature types.
