Galaxy Cluster Exhibits Enigmatic 200,000-Light-Year Cosmic Tendrils
Astronomers captured the deepest, highest-resolution image of galaxy cluster Abell 2255, revealing mysterious, filament-rich radio tendrils over 200,000 light-years long, which are likely dragged out by turbulent motions within the cluster, providing new insights into the behavior of supermassive black hole jets and intergalactic gas.
