The Copperas Cove Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding 15-year-old Kahlan Anne Morello, who was last seen leaving with an unidentified white man in an unidentified vehicle on Monday evening. The man is believed to be approximately 30 years old and is not a local resident. Kahlan was communicating with the man via social media. Police are working to identify the man and are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately.
Rabies-infected bat bites Copperas Cove resident.
A resident of Copperas Cove, Texas was bitten by a bat that tested positive for rabies. The person was able to kill the bat and sought medical treatment at a local hospital, taking the bat with them. Copperas Cove Animal Control received the bat and sent it to the Texas Department of Health Laboratory for testing, which confirmed the bat was infected with rabies. Citizens are warned to avoid contact with wild animals and to take steps to safeguard their outside areas. Anyone observing a wild animal acting strangely should contact Animal Control immediately.
