Google Pixel 10 introduces industry-standard C2PA Content Credentials in its camera app, enabling users to identify AI-edited images and verify their authenticity, with the technology expanding across Google Photos and other platforms.
Adobe has integrated AI into Photoshop and developed Content Credentials, which are "nutrition labels" attached to images containing a tamper-proof record of an image's provenance and history of changes. This comes as fears rise about the ability to spot manipulated images, following the circulation of a fake photo of an explosion near the Pentagon on social media, causing confusion and a momentary dip in the S&P 500 index. Adobe's Content Authenticity Initiative aims to develop an industry standard for digital content attribution.
Adobe Lightroom has added new features, including AI-enhanced denoise, additional AI mask categories, and adaptive presets for portraits. The release also includes 18 new travel presets, black and white video presets, and a tech preview of Content Credentials, allowing users to add attribution information and information about their edits as verifiable metadata to their photos. The AI-enhanced denoise feature uses machine learning to improve the quality of high-ISO RAW files without losing details.
