US Lawmakers Demand Explanation from Apple on Jon Stewart's Show Cancellation Amid China Concerns

US lawmakers have sent a letter to Apple, asking for an explanation regarding the cancellation of Jon Stewart's television show on its streaming service. Concerns have been raised that content related to China was behind the abrupt end of the show. The lawmakers expressed worries about the influence of a foreign power on content decisions and requested a briefing from Apple by December 15, 2023. They also asked Apple to publicly commit that content critical of the Chinese Communist Party or the People's Republic of China is welcome on Apple TV+ and other Apple services. The House committee has been focusing on China's controls on media, and concerns about Chinese government censorship have long been expressed by US lawmakers.

Censorship Strikes Baldur's Gate 3 in Japanese Release

Spike Chunsoft has announced that certain explicit content, including nudity, sex scenes, and torture options, will be removed from the Japanese version of Baldur's Gate 3 in order to comply with CERO's Code of Ethics. These changes are meant to adhere to the banned expressions outlined in Appendix 3 of CERO's guidelines. The game will be released in Japan on December 21, 2023, and will be available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X.
