The concept of AI assistants seamlessly integrating with various apps to provide instant access to a wealth of personal information is promising, but privacy concerns loom large. Experts emphasize the need for encrypted, private services and user consent to address the potential risks of data collection and monitoring. While the convenience and utility of accessing collected data are evident, the ethical responsibility lies with companies to prioritize privacy and security in developing AI assistants that respect user intentions and safeguard personal information.
The Google Play Store is introducing a new feature that allows users to remotely uninstall apps from their other connected Android devices. This feature, supported across all instances of Android, is hidden beneath the surface in version 38.8 of the Play Store. The exact availability of this feature is currently unknown.
Wi-Fi 7, also known as 802.11be, is set to become a concrete standard by the end of Q1 2024, offering speeds up to 40 Gbit/s and being nearly five times faster than Wi-Fi 6. While routers with support for the draft version of Wi-Fi 7 are already available, a firmware update will be required to bring them up to speed once the standard is finalized. However, client devices also need to support Wi-Fi 7 in order to benefit from the increased speed. Currently, there are only a few devices with Wi-Fi 7 support, but this is expected to change in the near future.
