Rep. George Santos' Family Members Co-Sign Bond to Keep Him Out of Jail.
Rep. George Santos' father and aunt co-signed his $500,000 bond after he was charged with 13 counts of wire fraud, money laundering, making false statements to Congress, and theft of public funds. During the bond hearing, the judge warned the family members that they were financially responsible for the bond and that they needed to exercise "moral control" over the congressman. The conditions of Santos' release include pretrial supervision, random home contacts, and employment verification, and he is limited to traveling between New York and Washington, D.C. Santos is next scheduled to appear in court on June 30.
