Arab Bloc Condemns Huckabee’s Biblical Land Claim as Tensions Rise
Arab and Islamic governments condemned US Ambassador Mike Huckabee’s remark that Israel has a biblical right to a broad Middle East, calling it dangerous and inflammatory and saying it undermines UN Charter principles and Gaza de‑escalation. A UAE-led statement, signed by Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and others along with the OIC, Arab League and GCC, urged restraint and a political path to peace. Huckabee issued clarifications on X but did not address the remark, while Israel’s Knesset speaker praised him, highlighting a rift in US-Israel messaging.
