The 2021 edition of ComFest, a community organization event in Columbus, Ohio, will close early at 6 p.m. on Sunday due to a tornado watch in Franklin County until 11 p.m. The festival was scheduled to run until 8 p.m. at Goodale Park. ComFest began in 1972 as a space to share progressive ideas and fundraise for antiwar protestors.
A homicide outside a community organization site in Rochester has sparked calls for justice. The victim, a 29-year-old man, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene. Violent crime has spiked dramatically in New Orleans over the past few years, with the city having the most homicides per capita among major U.S. cities in September.
