Bee Gees Mourn Loss of Two Drummers in One Week
Colin "Smiley" Petersen, the original drummer for the Bee Gees, has died at 78 following a fall. His death was announced on the Best of the Bee Gees Facebook page. Petersen, who was also a child actor, joined the Bee Gees in 1967 and played on several of their early albums before leaving the band in 1969. He later formed the band Humpy Bong and managed solo artist Jonathan Kelly. Petersen's passing follows the recent death of another Bee Gees drummer, Dennis Bryon. He is survived by his ex-wife and two sons.
