Special counsel reveals cocaine residue on Hunter Biden's gun pouch, strengthening gun case
Special counsel David Weiss's office responded to Hunter Biden's motions to dismiss federal firearms charges, arguing that the charges were not politically motivated and were a result of Biden's own choices. Prosecutors cited evidence including Biden's own words in his memoir, recovered text messages, and the presence of cocaine residue on a firearm pouch. They also stated that the diversion agreement, which would have immunized Biden from prosecution on federal gun charges, was never approved and never went into effect. Biden's legal counsel maintains the agreement is still valid, and also argued on Second Amendment grounds. The ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden, led by Weiss, has spanned five years and also includes federal tax charges in California.
