Alcorn State Football Coach Fred McNair Steps Down, Cedric Thomas Takes Over
Alcorn State University has announced that Coach Fred McNair will be leaving the football program, despite efforts to extend his contract. Cedric Thomas, the current defensive coordinator, has been named as the new head football coach, becoming the 22nd coach in the program's history. Thomas previously served as the defensive back coach and defensive coordinator at Alcorn State before coaching at Mississippi Delta Community College.
