Public Radio Stations Abandon Twitter Amid Controversies
Three NPR-affiliated radio stations in Greater Cincinnati, including WVXU-FM, have stopped using Twitter after the platform labeled NPR's official account as "state-affiliated media." Twitter later changed NPR's label to "government-funded media." The organization's CEO John Lansing said Wednesday it would stop using its 52 verified accounts. Twitter accounts for WVXU and other CPR stations were not labeled as government-funded media. However, CPR would suspend activity on the platform for the foreseeable future.
