Baltimore Archdiocese to Merge 61 Parishes into 23
The Archdiocese of Baltimore announced a plan to merge 61 parishes into 30 worship and ministry sites due to declining attendance and aging infrastructure. The two-year "Seek the City" initiative aims to consolidate resources and repurpose or sell some properties. Auxiliary Bishop Bruce Lewandowski emphasized the need for downsizing to address the shrinking and aging Catholic population in the area.
