St. Louis Catholics React to Archdiocese's 'All Things New' Plan
Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski announced his final plan for All Things New, which includes consolidating and closing some parishes due to a shortage of priests in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The restructuring will reduce the number of parishes from 178 to 134, with 35 closing and merging into neighboring parishes, and 15 consolidating to create five new ones. The plan also includes new priest assignments, with many pastors and priests doing double duty. The changes will start in August and continue through 2026, with decisions on Catholic parish school closures expected this fall. Appeals can be submitted in writing to the archbishop by June 12.
