Tragic Boating Accidents Claim Lives of Minnesota Teens at Summer Camps and Lakes.
A 13-year-old boy attending a Christian camp in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, was killed in a boating accident on Thursday, June 22. Benjamin Rennie of Coon Rapids fell off a tube he was riding and was struck by a boat in an attempt to get back on board. Another child was riding with him. Police say they were both wearing life jackets, and were trying to get back on the boat when Rennie was hit by the propeller. The boat was being driven by 27-year-old Meghan Westra from Fargo, who's also an employee of the camp. No charges will be filed.
